How about you? Don’t we ALL know someone - a family member, friend, colleague, parent, child – who has been affected by this deadly disease? So we wanted to do something about finding a cure for cancer and thought you would, too.
On Saturday, July 10, we are going to participate in the 29th Annual Prouty Century Bike Ride & Challenge Walk to raise money for cancer research at Dartmouth-Hitchcock's Norris Cotton Cancer Center. We've chosen to walk a 5k residential route (perfect for moms, dads, and strollers!). But you certainly don’t have to walk a 5k to participate in The Prouty. There are lots of ways to participate, a variety of events, or even a donation.
Sure, The Prouty routes—both biking and walking—through Hanover and the Connecticut River Valley can be challenging. But being with so many people who all are there in support of finding a cure for cancer is important and very moving. (It’s also a really fun day.) Plus, when we think of our friends and family who have battled cancer, we realize that our walk is nowhere near as tough as what they’ve been through. Participants in The Prouty come together to celebrate and support the courage of cancer patients and survivors everywhere and to raise money for crucial research and important patient services at this nationally-recognized cancer center. Norris Cotton Cancer Center is the ONLY comprehensive cancer center in northern New England. Yet, research conducted here helps cancer patients not only in the Upper Valley, but all over the world.
We hope you will click here to register now to participate with us by signing up your family to be part of this critically important event. Join team Upper Valley Moms, or donate with us if you find it possible. YOU have the power to make a difference in the fight against cancer.
